In a significant breakthrough against banditry, troops of  Operation Fansam Yanma Operation under the ongoing Operation show no mercy has neutralized two notorious bandit leaders, Kachalla Gwammade and Kachalla Shehu, along with four of their fighters in Ruwan Dawa village, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to eradicating criminal elements and ensuring national security.

Speaking at the conclusion of a three-day Joint Task Force (JTF) Commanders’ Conference in Abuja, he emphasized the determination of the Armed Forces to sustain the fight against insurgency.

According to intelligence sources, the operation was executed by troops stationed at Hannu Tara camp along the Magami–Dan Sadau highway, in collaboration with local vigilantes.

The troops engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, successfully eliminating six armed criminals and recovering three motorcycles and several firearms.

Kachalla Gwammade, a key terror commander, operated from Chabi village in the northeast of Maru LGA. He was also identified as a relative of the late Kachalla Sani Black, a notorious warlord recently neutralized in ongoing military offensives.

This latest success comes as security forces intensify their crackdown on terrorist activities across Zamfara State and the broader North West region.
