Troops Neutralize Terrorists, Dismantle Camps in Zamfara State Operation

Troops from Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West, under Operation Fansan Yamma, have successfully dismantled terrorist hideouts in Fakai, a community in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.


According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Centre for the operation, the troops, supported by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, cleared multiple terrorist camps in the area.


He stated that among the camps targeted were those operated by notorious commanders Bello Turji and Mallam Ila, during the offensive, over 25 terrorists were neutralized, while more than 18 others sustained injuries. 


The coordinated operation also facilitated the escape of seven kidnapped victims from captivity, he added.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi reaffirmed the commitment of Operation Fansan Yamma to maintaining pressure on terrorist groups and neutralizing all threats in the region.


"We urge all terrorist leaders and their collaborators to unconditionally surrender and renounce violence," he stated. "Our troops remain unwavering in their mission to restore peace and security to affected communities."


Authorities assured residents of their ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property in Zamfara State and neighboring areas.
