The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has announced a key portfolio change, appointing Mr. Denen Aondoakaa as the new head of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, it was also revealed that Dr. Denis Akura has been reassigned to a strategic advisory role, serving as Special Adviser to the Governor on Financial and Economic Strategy, Planning, and Development.
Before this appointment, Mr. Aondoakaa served as the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor, overseeing the Delivery Unit. He brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to his new role, including a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA in Finance.
His professional background includes serving as Head of Revenue Optimization at JED Makurdi Regional Office, Technical Advisor at the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), and Branch Operational Manager at Fidelity Bank.
The appointment is to take immediate effect as part of the administration’s drive to optimize governance and service delivery across the state.
