The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed serious concerns over recent activities aimed at destabilizing the party through attacks on its leaders.
In a statement, the party denounced what it described as attempts by external elements and certain individuals to create discord within the APC.
According to the APC in Jigawa, it has been closely observing a series of media reports, particularly on social platforms, which appear to be coordinated attacks aimed at undermining party unity.
The party identified these instigators as individuals who are not official members but are reportedly manipulating a few narrow-minded party affiliates to propagate a divisive agenda that threatens the APC's stability in Jigawa.
Under the leadership of Governor Malam Umar Namadi, the APC-led administration is committed to continuity, upholding the legacy of the former administration led by His Excellency Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar. The party asserted that both leaders hold the trust and confidence of the party, and their reputations are held in the highest regard.
The Jigawa APC emphasized that it will not tolerate any actions that could jeopardize the state government's efforts to fulfill its campaign commitments.
Additionally, they said specific concerns were raised about what the party termed a "sponsored smear campaign" against the Minister of Defence, Hon. Muhammad Badaru Abubakar. The party vowed to investigate these allegations, and appropriate actions will be taken to address any false claims.
The statement also questioned the credibility of those making accusations against Minister Badaru, noting that during the 2023 general elections, he was a key figure as the APC Northern Region Campaign Coordinator, contributing significantly to the party's success in Jigawa and the Northern region.
The APC Jigawa chapter warned that it would pursue all lawful measures to identify and take legal and political action against the individuals and groups orchestrating this discord. The aim, it noted, is to prevent any further attempts to destabilize the party.
Signed,
Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel
