The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Muhammed Bello Matawalle, has received further recognition for his dedication to public service, with recent praise coming from Comrade Famuyibo Oluwasegun, the newly elected National Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN).
During his acceptance speech at the YAN national election, held at Agura Hotels in Abuja over the weekend, Comrade Oluwasegun commended the Minister for his unwavering commitment to national security and his steadfast loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Comrade Oluwasegun, a native of Ekiti State, described Dr. Matawalle as an inspiring figure for Nigerian youth.
He highlighted the Minister’s courageous efforts in combating banditry and terrorism across Nigeria, particularly in the North West region.
The Speaker-elect credited Dr. Matawalle’s mentorship and support as instrumental in his own successful election, acknowledging the Minister's role in his journey, "After God Almighty, Dr. Matawalle’s guidance and leadership were pivotal to my achievement. His support truly made a difference."
Expressing gratitude, the YAN Speaker-elect thanked the YAN Board of Trustees, the Convention Planning Committee, and all YAN delegates for entrusting him with the responsibility to lead the Assembly’s fourth session.
Additionally, the Acting Chairman of the YAN Board of Trustees, Hon. Gt. C Samuel, urged the newly elected leaders to embody the ideals of Nigerian youth and serve as positive representatives of the country. He encouraged them to exercise thoughtful planning for the upcoming inauguration of the 4th Youth Assembly.
Other members of the newly elected YAN leadership include Umar Bala Babayaro of Kaduna State as Deputy National Speaker, Sadiq Abubakar of Borno State as Majority Leader, Ezeanikwe Charles as Deputy Majority Leader, Raymond Sylvanus of Cross River State as National Chief Whip, Jennifer Ornguga of Benue State as National Minority Leader, and Jude Chinonso as Diaspora Ambassador.
