The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has praised military personnel for their continued efforts in securing Kaduna State and restoring safety along the Kaduna/Birnin Gwari road.
During a two-day operational visit to the state, the Minister inspected several military formations, including the Headquarters of Sub-Sector 3 of the Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma in Birnin Gwari, the 1 Division Area of Responsibility, Pole Wire Military Camp, and the Air Training Command of the Nigeria Air Force.
The Defence Minister applauded the troops for their resilience, which has led to notable security improvements in the Birnin Gwari area.
"For the past six months, there have been no reports of kidnappings or civilian ambushes, except for a few confrontations between our troops and bandits.
"This is an outstanding achievement. On behalf of the President, I express our gratitude and urge you to continue your efforts to eliminate banditry and other criminal activities.
Badaru emphasized that his visit was aimed at raising troop morale, assessing operational capabilities, and ensuring strategic coordination to secure lasting peace in the region.
He acknowledged the substantial progress made in improving security in Birnin Gwari and encouraged the military to sustain the momentum in the fight against insecurity.
Additionally, He highlighted the importance of their mission, stating, "Your efforts are crucial to national development. Security is the foundation upon which a nation thrives, and your contributions are vital to Nigeria's progress. We must all work towards leaving behind a peaceful and prosperous country for future generations."
Brigadier-General SS Shehu, Chief of Staff of Section 1, assured the Minister of their dedication to addressing the ongoing security threats. Lt. Col. A Abdullahi, Commanding Officer of Sub-Sector 3, also pledged to uphold professionalism and maintain security in the area.
