The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has urged the graduating participants of the Army War College Course 8/2024 to prioritize national security in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Abuja, the Minister praised the students for their perseverance and dedication throughout the 35-week intensive training, which focused on national security, military strategy, and operational tactics.
The Minister, served as the Special Guest of Honour, commended the graduates for their hard work, highlighting the significance of their newly developed leadership and strategic skills.
He remarked, "It is a privilege to recognize the achievements of these graduates who have undergone months of rigorous training, intellectual development, and personal sacrifice. Their dedication is a testament to their resilience and pursuit of excellence."
Badaru emphasized their critical responsibility in operational and strategic capacities.
"This graduation signifies your progression from tactical roles to becoming operational and strategic leaders.
"Leadership in the military is more than issuing orders it involves guiding and inspiring others towards shared objectives.
"With the knowledge and skills acquired at the Army War College Nigeria, you are now prepared to navigate the complex geostrategic environment.
He further encouraged the graduates to lead with integrity, courage, and empathy, reminding them of the evolving global challenges that lie ahead. "The world is increasingly complex and uncertain, and as leaders trained in operational-level planning, you will face both unpredictable and dangerous situations. I urge you to approach these challenges with confidence and determination."
The Minister also extended his appreciation to President Tinubu for his continuous support of the Nigerian Military and recognized the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff, the College Governing Board, the Commandant, faculty members, and the graduates' families for their collective contributions to the success of the course.
Badaru congratulated the graduating class, expressing his confidence in their future contributions. "The future holds great promise for you, and I am confident that you will serve our nation with distinction."
