The Osun State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially suspended former Minister of Interior and two-term governor of the state, Rauf Aregbesola, over alleged acts of disloyalty.

The APC’s national secretariat and addressed to the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje, the Osun APC leadership accused Aregbesola of fostering division within the party by forming a separate faction. This action is seen as undermining party cohesion, particularly during a critical phase for the state’s political landscape.

Party officials further alleged that Aregbesola’s influence on certain factions has heightened internal discord within the APC, creating a rift among party members.

The decision to suspend Aregbesola marks a decisive step by the Osun APC to address perceived disloyalty and to unify its ranks ahead of upcoming elections.
