The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, on September 24, 2024, called on the latest graduates of the Special Operations Forces to remain humble and dedicated to their mission.
Speaking at the Headquarters National Mission Force in Bida, Niger State, General Musa emphasized the importance of integrity and adherence to core values during the badging ceremony of Batch 7 graduates.
General Musa highlighted the significance of the rigorous training the graduates underwent, noting that it has equipped them to face future challenges.
He stressed that their character and commitment to duty will be crucial in determining their success. The CDS also advised the graduates to maintain impartiality in their duties, avoiding any form of bias or partiality.
General Musa praised the resilience and professionalism demonstrated by the trainees, attributing it to the high standards set by their instructors.
He acknowledged the transformation of the participants into highly skilled warriors, while also reminding them that their roles extend beyond combat to include empathy, passion, and a deep understanding of the communities they serve.
The CDS conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's gratitude for the troops' dedication and commended their outstanding performance at the recently concluded Warriors Competition in Jordan.
Brigadier General IM Falana, Commander of the DHQ Special Forces Brigade, highlighted the unique skills and tactics imparted during the training.
He expressed appreciation to the CDS for his steadfast support and commitment to the training and welfare of the armed services.
Brigadier General Falana also lauded General Musa's leadership, which has been instrumental in achieving the brigade's successes. He reiterated the brigade's loyalty to the CDS and the nation.
The intensive 13-week training, which began in January 2024, culminated in the graduation of 124 personnel, including nine officers and 136 soldiers. The ceremony was attended by senior military officers from the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, who accompanied the CDS to the event.
