Defence Minister Urges Air War College Graduates to Lead with Innovation in Security Operations

The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has called on graduates of the Nigerian Air Force NAF, Air War Course 10/2024 at the Air Force War College AFWC in Makurdi to embrace innovative and proactive strategies in addressing the nation's complex security challenges.


The Minister was represented by Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, he stressed the importance of leadership at the operational level in combating threats from violent non-state actors and asymmetric warfare.


Badaru highlighted vital role of strong military leadership across various operational theatres in Nigeria,  he, expressed confidence that the graduates would uphold the high standards of professionalism expected from the Nigerian military. 


The Minister also acknowledged the Nigerian Air Force's key contributions to both national security and international peacekeeping missions, including airlift operations and humanitarian assistance. 


He reiterated the Federal Government's commitment, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to provide the necessary resources to strengthen the NAF's capacity in addressing security issues.


This graduation marks a significant achievement in the NAF’s ongoing efforts to develop a highly capable force, committed to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
