Chief of Defence Staff Offers Condolences to Borno State Following Devastating Flood

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, expressed his profound condolences to the government and people of Borno State in the wake of severe flooding that has wreaked havoc on several communities, disrupting economic activities across the state. The floods, triggered by the overflow of Alo Dam, have resulted in the tragic loss of lives, destruction of property, and displacement of thousands of residents. 


Speaking on behalf of the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria, General Musa extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and the affected community, recognizing the immense challenges they face during this trying period.


General Musa also reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to collaborate with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant authorities to deliver immediate aid and support to those impacted. He directed the Theater Commander of Operation Hadin Kai to ensure all necessary assistance is provided to the victims. 


He said, the Armed Forces stand in solidarity with the people of Borno State, pledging to assist with evacuations and to contribute to ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts.


Reiterating his commitment to supporting both federal and state government initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of those affected by the disaster, General Musa expressed his hopes for a speedy recovery for the injured and comfort for all victims. 


General Musa offered prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives, seeking divine guidance and solace for the grieving families.
