CGC Adeniyi Advocates for Enhanced Education Investment at Book Launch

The Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Customs Service NCS to strengthening education across the nation by allocating more resources to schools under its administration. 


He made this statement on 26 September 2024, while presiding over the launch of Business Geek Innovative Incubator From Concept to Reality, authored by Asma’u Isah Maibasirah, the spouse of a senior NCS official. The event took place at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.

The CGC Adeniyi underscored the importance of education in national development, highlighting the NCS's efforts in renovating and improving primary and secondary schools across the country. 


He emphasized the need for accessible quality education for all children, regardless of their background, and reiterated the Service's dedication to supporting this cause.


Addressing the significance of the book, CGC Adeniyi remarked that it provides crucial insights into entrepreneurship and innovation, which are essential in tackling Nigeria's unemployment crisis. 

"This book presents valuable ideas that we must take seriously.


The book Business Geek, according to the CGC, is designed to cultivate entrepreneurial skills and innovative thinking, especially among young Nigerians, by offering practical advice on turning creative ideas into successful businesses. 


He praised the author's initiative and noted that the work aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision for supporting small businesses to revitalize the economy.

CGC Adeniyi pledged the Nigeria Customs Service’s support in ensuring the book reaches a wider audience, promising assistance in printing additional copies as needed.


Professor Muhammad Aliyu Paiko, Vice-Chancellor of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna, Niger State, reviewed the book, describing it as an insightful and well-researched contribution to the fields of entrepreneurship and business development. 


He commended the author for her comprehensive approach and the relevance of the content to both academic and professional circles.


Dr Maibasirah, the author, expressed her gratitude to Mrs Kikelomo Adewale Adeniyi, who represented the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her unwavering support. 


She also acknowledged the crucial role played by the Comptroller-General and his team in facilitating the book’s publication and launch.


The event, which attracted participants from various sectors, provided a platform for discussing strategies to enhance entrepreneurial skills and leverage innovative solutions for economic growth.
