The Trade Modernization Project (TMP) On July 5, 2024, presented the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) with a customized generator and a bus, signifying a strengthened partnership. The equipment was handed over by TMP Chairman Saleh Ahmadu to Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Adewale Adeniyi at the NCS Management Quarters in Abuja.
CGC Adeniyi expressed gratitude for the 250KVA generator and the 13-seater 2024 Toyota Hiace bus, acknowledging the essential role of such equipment in the ongoing modernization efforts. He highlighted that modernization extends beyond technology, requiring a supportive working environment and necessary tools. "We appreciate these efforts that enhance the working environment and improve the welfare of our officers," Adeniyi stated.
He also praised TMP as a dependable partner in the NCS modernization drive, noting that the new equipment would significantly enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, Adeniyi urged officers, particularly those undergoing special training by TMP, to leverage this opportunity to acquire the necessary skills for future management roles.
TMP Chairman Saleh Ahmadu emphasized the importance of the equipment for the smooth operation of NCS. The bus will facilitate personnel movement between the headquarters and TMP office, while the generator ensures a constant power supply to the management quarters. Ahmadu also acknowledged CGC Adeniyi's continuous support and collaboration.
This gesture underscores the vital role of TMP in equipping NCS for a more efficient and modernized service, ultimately contributing to better trade facilitation and revenue collection.
