President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, lauded the bravery and valor of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) during the graduation ceremony of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji Senior Course 46, held on July 27, 2024.
Represented by Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Gwabin Musa, President Tinubu praised the college's dedication to the professional development of the AFN, highlighting its critical role in ensuring the security and stability of Nigeria and the broader West African region.
President Tinubu emphasized the importance of the networking opportunities provided by the college, which are crucial for future operational collaboration.
He encouraged foreign graduates to cherish the bonds and lessons from their training, urging them to support one another and strive for unity and cooperation.
Addressing the graduates, President Tinubu noted that many current global security challenges are asymmetric and transborder, often involving non-state actors. He expressed confidence that the training provided would equip participants to effectively counter such threats.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by the nation over the past year, President Tinubu commended the efforts of the military and other security agencies in enhancing national security.
The President reaffirmed the government's commitment to creating a safe, secure, prosperous, and strong nation. He also emphasized the AFN's ongoing efforts to improve combat effectiveness, operational capabilities, and necessary training in collaboration with other stakeholders.
During the ceremony, the Chief of Defence Staff inaugurated a remodeled Joint Studies Office Complex named in his honor. Established in 1970, the college saw 240 participants, including foreign students from other African countries, complete the rigorous 50-week training program of Senior Course 46.
