Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has inaugurated a weeklong Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Nigerian Army 2024 Mid-Year Courses Appraisal and Curriculum Harmonization Workshop for the Nigerian Army Training Schools.
The workshop, which was officially opened by Major General KO Aligbe, the Commander of TRADOC and representative of the Chief of Army Staff, is being held at the TRADOC Headquarters in Minna.
In his opening remarks, Major General Aligbe emphasized that TRADOC is the center of excellence for the Nigerian Army in enhancing the skills and resourcefulness of its personnel. He highlighted that the workshop is meticulously designed to formulate strategies that will aid the Nigerian Army in improving the professionalism and performance of its personnel.
The representative of the Special Guest of Honour reiterated TRADOC's commitment to effectively implementing training directives in alignment with the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy: to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force capable of fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.
General Aligbe also stressed the importance of maximizing the opportunities provided by the workshop to enhance the performance of the training schools. He encouraged participants to engage actively and adopt pragmatic, problem-solving approaches to ensure the workshop is a valuable experience.
In his welcome address, Major General POA Okoye, Chief of Training at TRADOC, urged participants to expand their intellectual horizons and justify their attendance by contributing positively to the Nigerian Army's training initiatives. He challenged them to use the workshop to set new benchmarks for training excellence.
The workshop features a series of activities, including presentations and interactive sessions, designed to run throughout its duration.
Notable attendees include Deputy Chief of Training (Army) Major General OS Abai, along with departmental chiefs and directors of TRADOC Nigerian Army.
