General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), visited Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to discuss leadership issues and strengthen collaboration for national peace today 8 July, 2024
The visit according to director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau is part of the CDS leadership concept of ensuring collaboration with critical stake holders to bring lasting peace and stability to the nation.
General Musa praised Governor Mutfwang for providing a conducive environment for Operation SAFE HAVEN troops and commended the governor's leadership, which has fostered a sense of safety and security in the state. He acknowledged the positive changes within Plateau State.
Congratulating the governor on his achievements despite numerous challenges, General Musa reaffirmed the Armed Forces of Nigeria's (AFN) commitment to ensuring peace and stability across the nation.
Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude for General Musa's patriotic leadership and thanked the AFN and other security agencies for safeguarding lives and property in Plateau State.
The Governor highlighted the AFN's legacy of prompt crisis intervention in the state and called for continued efforts to eliminate threats to Nigeria's security.
The Governor noted the state's significant improvements and commended Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, for his resilience in maintaining peace and responding swiftly to threats.
Governor Mutfwang also conveyed condolences to the CDS for the loss of AFN members in the line of duty. He reiterated Plateau State's commitment to collaborating with the AFN and other security agencies to combat insecurity, emphasizing the deployment of technology to support their efforts.
The governor invited the Nigerian Air Force to host future celebrations in the state, following the successful hosting of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration.
