President Bola Tinubu has expressed his deep sorrow and outrage over the recent killing of five soldiers in Aba, Abia State, by suspected militants of the outlawed terrorist group, IPOB.

"These soldiers were on peacekeeping duty when they were brutally murdered on Thursday, just two months after a similar tragic event in Okuama, Delta State.

President Tinubu denounced these heinous acts as barbaric and unacceptable, emphasizing that such violence should never be tolerated in Nigeria. He highlighted the critical role of soldiers and police in protecting citizens from aggressors and criminal elements, noting that many have sacrificed their lives in service to the nation.

The President made it clear that the federal government will take decisive action against those who attack military personnel. He stressed that no one should feel emboldened to harm state agents without facing severe consequences.

Tinubu assured that the government and armed forces possess the capability to eliminate violent non-state actors threatening the safety of communities. He called on security agencies to apprehend not only those directly responsible for the Aba attack but also those inciting treasonous actions, such as calling for stay-at-home orders.

The Commander-in-Chief says the government remains committed to building a peaceful and harmonious society but will not hesitate to act when the lives of its officers are at risk, He underscored that the restraint shown by security forces should not be mistaken for weakness.

The President extended his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, their comrades, and the leadership of the armed forces. He encouraged those still on peacekeeping duties to remain steadfast despite the recent tragedy in Aba.
