The Nigerian military persists in its successful campaign against terrorists and their allies in the nation's ongoing counterterrorism and insurgency efforts.
According to Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media, troops have displayed unwavering stamina, determination, and a steadfast commitment to eradicating terrorism, as emphasized in a recent press statement released on Friday.
Buba said, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE troops destroyed illegal refining sites, recovered stolen crude oil and illegally refined AGO, and neutralized one insurgent.
While in the North Central, Operation SAFE HAVEN troops neutralized 16 insurgents, arrested 32 violent extremists, and rescued 27 kidnapped hostages.
Meanwhile, Operation WHIRL STROKE troops in the North Central neutralized 13 terrorists, arrested 26 violent extremists, and rescued 15 kidnapped hostages. In the North West, Operation HADARIN DAJI troops neutralized 36 terrorists, arrested 25 suspects, and rescued 45 kidnapped hostages.
Additionally, Operation WHIRL PUNCH troops in the North West neutralized 9 terrorists, arrested 21 suspects, and rescued 30 kidnapped hostages
In the South West troops of Operation AWATSE tarrested 5 violent extremists, rescued one kidnapped hostage, and recovered one rusty AK47 rifle and various ammunition
Finally, In the South East, Operation UDO KA troops neutralized 23 terrorists, arrested 31 violent extremists, and rescued 13 kidnapped hostages.
The military is currently in a robust position in the ongoing battle against terrorism, having eliminated numerous terrorist leaders. Through concerted efforts, troops have substantially weakened the military capabilities of these extremist factions and remain steadfast in their mission. Our resolve is evident as we ensure that terrorists and their associates face a considerably higher cost for their actions than ever before.
