Prince Harry, Wife To Visit Nigeria On Friday

The Defence Headquarters has announced the coming of Prince Harry and his Wife Meghan to Nigeria tomorrow, Friday.  The Director of Defence Sports, Air Vice Marshal Marquis Abidemi disclosed this while briefing Journalists in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.



The Director said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are coming to the country on the invitation extended to them by the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.



According to him, the objectives of their coming are as follows:


*Nigeria is now a member of the Invictus community, so their coming will give credence to the fact that as a new part of the community, Nigeria needs to be accepted.



*That Nigeria is also looking forward to hosting an Invictus Games



*There is a need to build a state-of-the-art structure for the management of the wounded and injured Soldiers particularly the post-traumatic seizure and the post-traumatic stress syndrome. This is manifesting due to their encounter with insurgency in the country’s operation



Prince Harry’s wife just recently did a genealogy test showing she is 43 Nigerian. So she is also looking forward to coming to Nigeria as part of her ancestry lineage.



He noted that the reception will be quiet because they are traveling 14 hours to get to this place which after they will visit the Chief of Defence Staff to discuss areas of mutual benefits.



The Director mentioned some of the places they will visit in Nigeria, Light Academy in Wuse, Nigerian Reference Army Hospital where the wounded and injured soldiers are kept for their medical records and use the opportunity to see the Governor of Kaduna State.



Then back to Abuja on Saturday, will be having an exhibition, the CDS team and the Duke team will be having a volleyball match and the Armed Forces adding that this is just to engage with the wounded and injured soldiers
