Nigerian Military Declares Halilu Buzu, Notorious Terrorist Leader, Wanted

The Nigerian Military has officially labeled Halilu Buzu, a notorious terrorist leader from Buzu in the Republic of Niger, as a wanted individual.

This announcement was made by Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, during a press briefing on Thursday at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

General Buba disclosed that Halilu Buzu has established a base in Subbubu Forest and resides in Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State. Buzu operates an illegal gold mining camp in Kawayi, Anka LGA of Zamfara State, and commands a significant number of followers. He is also heavily involved in cattle rustling.

Last week, his operatives brutally killed 19 villagers in Farar Kasa. Recognized as a High-Value Target, Buzu has now been declared wanted.

Moreover, Buzu is a key arms supplier, trusted by dealers who bring in weapons from Libya. Despite persistent efforts to capture him, Buzu frequently escapes across the border into the Republic of Niger.

The Nigerian Military is now calling on Nigerien authorities, as well as regional and international organizations, to assist in apprehending Halilu Buzu and holding him accountable for his crimes.
