Nigeria Customs Service Board Confirms New Senior Appointments

The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has officially confirmed the appointments of five Deputy Comptrollers-General (DCGs) and eight Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs) of Customs. 


This decision was made during the NCSB's 59th regular meeting held on May 14, 2024, at the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters in Abuja, with the Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, in attendance.


Newly Appointed Deputy Comptrollers-General (DCGs)

-OO Peters - Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (retired)
-BM Jibo- Enforcement, Inspection & Investigation
-BU Nwanfor - Excise, Free Trade Zone & Industrial Incentives
-SA Bomai - Commander, Training and Doctrine Command
-CK Niagwan- Tariff & Trade


Newly Appointed Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs)

-B Imam - Board
-AAS Oloyede - Trade & Tariff
-SK Dangaldima- Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘B’
-A Abdul Azeez - Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘D’
-SA Yusuf - Human Resource Development
-NP Umoh- Training and Doctrine Command
-CO Obih - Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘C’
-S Chiroma- Strategic Research and Policy


These appointments were necessitated by the recent retirements of several senior officers within the Service. They reflect the NCSB's recognition of the officers' exceptional service and dedication.


The Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, expressed his gratitude to the retired officers for their distinguished service and congratulated the newly appointed officers. 


He encouraged them to enhance their efforts to ensure the Service achieves greater success in its core functions, including revenue generation, anti-smuggling operations, and trade facilitation.


The NCSB remains dedicated to providing strategic leadership to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Nigeria Customs Service.
