Netherlands and EU Delegation Visits Maiduguri to Support Stabilization Efforts in Borno State

On Wednesday, a high-ranking delegation from the Netherlands and the European Union (EU), led by Ambassador Wouter Plomp, visited the Theatre Command in Maiduguri.

Captain Reuben Kovangiya, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations at the Theatre Command headquarters, reported that the delegation aimed to gain insight into the ongoing stabilization efforts in Borno State and to engage with local stakeholders, including the Armed Forces.

Major General W. Shaibu, Theatre Commander, welcomed the visitors and underscored the significance of their cooperation in tackling the region's intricate security issues. He stressed the importance of restoring normalcy and fostering an environment conducive to socio-economic development in the state.

The delegation praised the military's efforts and pledged their support for achieving lasting peace in the area.


This visit underscores the commitment of the Netherlands and the EU to assist Nigeria in addressing the humanitarian crisis and promoting stability in the Northeast region.
