CGC Adeniyi Receives Excellence Award for Pioneering Public Relations in Africa

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)Adewale Adeniyi, has been awarded a certificate of excellence for his exceptional public relations efforts during his first 100 days in office.


This recognition was bestowed upon him at the 2024 SABRE African Public Relations Association (APRA) Awards and annual conference, held in Côte d’Ivoire on May 13-18, 2024.


Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, who also attended the conference, highlighted the significance of the SABRE Awards. He noted that the recognition reflects the highest levels of creativity, integrity, and effectiveness in public relations and governance, marking it as the most prestigious continental award for the public relations industry in Africa.



In his acceptance speech, CGC Adeniyi expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am deeply honored by this recognition. I hope it will serve as an inspiration for the Nigeria Customs Service to continue providing impactful leadership in Nigeria.” 


The Custom Boss also extended his thanks to Image Merchants, the team behind the NCS’s public relations efforts, and emphasized the value of the conference for networking and fostering positive public relations.

The Comptroller who is now a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and an active member of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), looks forward to continuing his impactful leadership and contributing to the advancement of public relations in Nigeria and Africa.
